Jonathan Davis = Extremely good narration. Just remember, Anthony Heald = extremely poor narration. Quite a few of these are narrated by Anthony Heald and he is just plain awful. They are so butchered by the abridgements, that they are not worth your time or money.
One last thing, stay away from any of the star wars audiobooks that are less than 6 hours in length. I would give this 5 stars if not for the abridgement. The writing, sound production, and music were all top notch. The different character voices that he assumes throughout the book are executed flawlessly and I had to keep reminding myself that it was the same person speaking. Marc Thompson is one of the most talented narrators that I have heard. Other than that, this book was excellent. I won't beat around the bush, I loathe any abridgement and I would encourage people to complain to the publisher so that they will begin releasing unabridged versions of these books. That said, you can still notice gaps where, I assume, material was cut out for the abridgement. Even though it is abridged, the 6 hour run-time leaves enough material to make this audiobook entertaining. Very well done for a Star Wars audiobook. No history of it no mention of it and it’s so powerful that it makes you wonder why the sith didn’t make 2 or 3 or 500 and just rule the galaxy for ever Why is the reader expected to be so credulous to actually accept all this nonsense Who is permitting this rubbish to be printed why are the authors writing Luke to be such a pillock And turns out the most powerful entity in the galaxy is the weird little sith ship that has no place in any story. just like he did with lumiya who went on to kill his wife. sharks and fricken laser beams yawn yawn Then Luke leaves a crippled jacen alive even though he came to kill him. Ben does something ridiculous and Luke misses and tap in to kill him. well it’s game over then if that could actually happen And in proper James Bond style. because what they didn’t have lightsabers and some snipers were hidden in bushes ?!!! Plus what jaina just became a rubbish pilot after it’s been her thing for the last 50 books?!!!!! And hacen can now detach jedi from the force. A trio of grande masters and teenage padwans couldn’t combat a battalion of guards. they adjust to allow plot and its galling. These books have awful continuity of the force.
